Tomás Holy, an EFL League Two goalkeeper for Carlisle United, was born on December 10, 1991, in the Czech Republic.

Hol was born in Rychnov nad Knnou, Czechoslovakia, and joined Hradec Králové at the age of fourteen before signing for Sparta Prague in 2010 when he was eighteen years old.
On June 11, 2011, he made his competitive debut for Sparta Prague B in a 2-1 home loss against FK Varnsdorf in the Czech 2. Liga. He appeared in 11 games in the 2011–12 season.
Hol joined Vlaim on loan in July 2013, when head coach Michal Horák was in search of a replacement for Michal Toma, whose outstanding efforts the previous season had prevented the team from being demoted from the Czech Národn Liga.
He participated in nine Czech Národna Liga games in the 2013–14 campaign before being loaned to Viktoria ikov, a team in the same tier.
When asked about Hol’s performances in June 2014, Viktoria ikov head coach Jindich Trpiovsk claimed he was happy with them up until his injury disabled him and forced David Pokorn to take over for the remainder of the season.
For the 2014–15 campaign, Hol returned to Ikov and played in another 28 games as Viktorka finished in fourth place.

Prior to joining Sparta Prague, Hol participated in the Hradec Králové youth system. Sparta Prague is where he began his professional career. During the 2010–11 and 2011–12 seasons, he played for Sparta Prague B, the club’s reserve squad.
He spent time on loan at Vlaim, Viktoria Ikov, and Fastav Zln while playing for Sparta Prague. Hol went to play for Gillingham in English football in January 2016.
Before moving on a free transfer to Ipswich Town in June 2019, he played for Gillingham for two and a half seasons, appearing in over 100 games.
